Separate structural observations from performance results
Structural evaluation can describe the visible shape of the array, the consistency of its geometry and the condition of the tips. Mechanical evaluation addresses a different question and should identify the test setup, sample orientation and measured response. Dissolution observations are different again. Organizing these results separately helps a reader understand what each image or chart actually demonstrates. A photograph of well-formed needles is useful structural evidence, but it cannot independently establish insertion, ingredient delivery or clinical performance. The summary should remain within the scope of the method that produced the result.
Make a quality summary traceable
An informative quality summary links the report to the sample identifier, material description, drawing revision and date of evaluation. It records the method, the number of samples examined and any defined acceptance criteria. It should also identify excluded results or deviations that affect interpretation. For a formulation-containing patch, analytical data and structural data may come from different methods and should remain distinguishable. Connecting those records makes a summary more useful to a development team than a collection of attractive microscopy images or broad statements about consistency without an identified batch or method.
